![]() 8.5x11 does not proportionately scale up to be 11x17. 150ppi: The document size is still too large for the 8.5 x 11 sheet and the quality is mediocre and makes the image look acceptable, but isnt very desirable. The print quality is extremely low, leaving the image looking very blurry or 'soft'. However if you use CS 4 and like the old filter create crop marks you can load the last version of it into the plug in folders for Illustrator CS 4 and it will work. For example, a poster you design 8.5x11 to be printed 11x17 will not work. 72ppi: The document size is so large that it cannot fit onto an 8.5 x 11 sheet and is clipped. It would be different if there were a command to covert artboard to a path and if that were the case an action would work but without this command there is no real way. You would still have to draw the rectangle manually and then select the rectangle then run an action including a scale step and the an ungroup but first I think you would have to stop the action to select only the rectangle, quite a messy deal. The Actions panel cannot re-size Artboards so I cannot use that method. ![]() Completing this manually would consume too many man hours and is unfeasible. I woud have suggested this but cannot see how this can be made into an action that would have any time saving or workflow value. Community, I have thousands of PDF files (Illustrator editable) that need to have the first Artboard resized. Then you ungroup and or select the rectangle only and go to Object>Convert to Artboard. Then either group the art and artboard or simply select both of them and scale to the percentage or using the selection tool resize them by dragging. You have to make a new file less than 227.54 in. I export vectors to a plotter via a SUMMA Winplot plugin - if the canvas is (or ever was) over 227.54 in the output will cut at 10 scale. Well you cannot do it without a script however if you want to do something manual because of proportional concerns you draw a rectangle the same dimensions and location as the existing artboard. If you make canvas over 227.54 in some plugins will interpret the dimensions at 1:10 scale.
